Learn How to Grow Shiitake Mushrooms in Your Own Backyard
A workshop on growing shiitake mushrooms is scheduled for Saturday, January 28 at 1:00pm at the McDowell Agricultural Center "Ag Barn", Ag Services Drive, Marion. Mushroom cultivation is something you can do in your own backyard. You will learn cultivation techniques and do some hands-on inoculating of logs. The workshop includes shiitake mushroom spawn for you to take home to get started. There is a registration fee of $15/$20 couples. Make checks payable to McDowell Cooperative Extension. This workshop is limited to 15 people.
